Qurat-ul-Ain Balouch commonly known as (QB) is an up and coming Pakistani singer. She has earned a Bachelors degree in IT essentials Multimedia. She was raised in Pakistan.

Reshma Ji influenced her. Cover song Ankhian nu ren de was the starter for QB’s career. Even though she had no classical training, she was heavily inspired by Sufi musicians Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan and Abida Parveen, among others. She is an American citizen.

Her song “Panchi Hun Ma”, which she recorded with Jal Band in Coke Studio, raised her profile. In 2012 she started working with Saad Sultan. Balouch sang the title song of one of the most popular dramas of Hum TV called ‘Hamsafar’ starring Fawad Khan, Mahira Khan and Naveen Waqar.

She was born in Iran to a Persian father and a Multani Mother (from Multan, Pakistan). She now works in Lahore.

Quratulain Balouch, better known to people as QB, is a Pakistani singer, composer and a song-writer who started off her career in 2011 with a cover of one of Reshma’s superlative singles, Ankhian nu ren de which to her surprise made waves on it’s release and put Balouch in to the spot light. Balouch textured voice soon got noticed and she became part of Coke Studio season 4 where she belted out Tere Ishq main, a collaboration with Jal The Band. This breakthrough was all that was needed and there was no looking back since without formal training and with no intentions of taking music as a profession at an early age, “it was bound to happen.”

Soon after, Balouch’s voice could be heard on television accompanying a recent play titled “Humsafar” a song that not only capitalizes on Balouch’s unique voice but has also been well-received by critics.

Her live performances are the real treat for the audience who have witnessed the Rockstar and a half, belting out melodies with a strong presence on stage. In 2012, Quratulain represented Pakistan in a live performance with the Philharmonic Orchestra for the BBC Asian Network’s Queens of Melody and a wild card entry for the Indian band Euphoria against Pakistan’s winners Strings in Redbull Sound Clash UAE 2014

Balouch has won the Pakistan’s Youngest Achievement Award UK and Europe 2011, Song of the year and Best Original Soundtrack for Woh Humsafar tha at the Lux Style Awards 2012. Singer of the year (Female) at the Pakistan Media Awards and Life time Achievement Award at the age of 26 by the Pakistani Canadian Cultural Association British Columbia at the City of Bhangra Festival’s 10th Anniversary in Vancouver, Canada.
